SoCal FairTax Meetup - May kick-off meeting. Time to give this some shape!

Hello and Good Morning SoCal FairTaxers.

Thanks for your interest in our upcoming kick-off meeting! Those of us who are spreading the word about the FairTax are true patriots who care deeply about the future of our country.

I have been working on a possibility for a free meeting facility in Downey but unfortunately it fell through. Based on location information from our current members I do believe that Downey/Norwalk/Cerritos is central to where we want to meet.

I have a call in to the Norwalk library to check on availability for Tuesday May 20th. They charge $50/hr so we would need to pitch in a few bucks to cover the meeting room if we go with this option (if they have availability).

Another option that I researched is a restaurant called Frantone?s Pizza in Downey (http://www.frantones....) which does have a separate banquet room. They offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for $13.5/head (~17 with tax & tip) with a 25-person minimum and they have Tuesday evening May 20th available. This may be our best option if everyone who RSVPd for our first meeting promises to bring at least one additional person so we can reach the 25-person minimum.

Other options include hooking up at a hotel lounge or moving the meeting to a Saturday and meeting at a park (free). We need to establish this ASAP so please don?t be shy about chiming in.

Also, if you have a line on another meeting option (local conference room, class room, or otherwise) that would be better than what we have been considering thus far, please contact me ASAP.
