I hope those in Tennessee will take this thread and run with it!! Add the pertinent details to the thread and specifics on the calendar!

This rally will be held in Riverfront Park in Nashville on April 12, 2008

As of this posting, it should be noted that Gov. Mike Huckabee has been invited to be the keynote speaker for this event. The event coordinator, Jim Tomasik, has been planning this event for the past 6 months, and has set up a website :

National Fair Tax Freedom Rally

This event starts at noon on Saturday the 12th. It is very important for those that are interested in attending to start making plans on how everyone will get there, and road rallies are now being planned within some of the groups.

It is also just as important that if you cannot attend, to PLEASE MAKE A DONATION at the website above. This is strictly a volunteer effort and to make this and our issue a success unfortunately involves digging into our pockets from time to time.

Steve Leroy called me yesterday and told me the AFFT will be bringing the AFFT FairTax Bus to Nashville for this Rally.

Now I get to figure out where to park it.....

Please keep in mind that folks from AFFT are our guest and they are not the ones putting on this Rally. It is strickly GRASSROOTS!

He said something about bringing T-shirts and other spiffy FairTax stuff.


Like Don said... If you can't come to the rally, please try to contribute a few dollars to offset some of the costs.

I've been on the phone this morning with Ken Hoagland from AFFT. He tells me they will be giving away the remainder of their stock of t-shirts at the rally. He also said he was sending tri-folds and asked if we could help get them signed by as many folks as possible.

He said he will have the Rally highlighted on the front page of the fairtax website.

I'm happy to see AFFT's enthusiastic interest in our event.
